2008 performances
Stabat Mater
Saturday July 19, 2008
6:30pm Pilgrim Church
12 Flinders Street, Adelaide
| Pergolesi | Stabat Mater |
| Durante | Concerto a Quattro |
| Buxtehude | Cantate Domino |
Pergolesi’s famous account of Mary kneeling at the Cross is a tour de force for soprano and countertenor, bridging the gap between the choral and operatic repertoire. The stunning purity of Syntony’s singers will be complemented by some of Australia’s finest baroque players: three of the principal string players of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra – Lucinda Moon and Ben Dollman (violins) and Jamie Hey (cello), and Adelaide’s own Tim Marks (viola) and Glenys March (harpsichord).
